Diagnosed unilateral hip dysplasia at 5.5 months old

Note: On October 15th, 2008 our Indy puppy named Brynn and co-owned with breeder and friend Lorra Miller was unfortunately diagnosed with a severe case of unilateral hip dysplasia in her left hip. She was five and a half months old at the time. We did extensive research with several Veterinarians and Orthopedic Specialists to find the best solution to help Brynn be able lead the most pain free and happy life as possible. After looking at all the options possible we decided to have the TPO surgery. Brynn is recovering very well from it and and we expect excellent success for her full and complete recovery since the hip problem was luckily found so early on. We were fortunate to have an excellent Orthopedic Veterinarian surgeon located nearby to us to perform the surgery. The other 4 puppies have each been exrayed and hips so far appear upon Vet examination to be rated a good to excellent grade.

Health update, January 2009:
Brynn's other hip (right side) was found to be severely dysplastic during a follow-up exam after her first TPO surgery. Brynn had her second TPO surgery on her right hip in late January and has recovered quickly and fully. Brynn is an outgoing Belgian girl kissing and welcoming everyone she meets and is a strong and wonderful girl of happy Belgian character. Her sparkling personality makes many friends wherever she goes including all the people at the vet's office who have helped care for her during these past few months during her two hip surgeries. Thanks to everyone who helped us in her care, for all the visits and for the kind and supportive encouragement.

Prior to this breeding both Brynn's sire Justin, and her dam Indy, have received OFA GOOD hip ratings as well as passed all their health clearances.
